Clinical spectrum of infection and sirs

¥ infection= identifiable source of microbial insult.
¥ Sirs= two or more of following criteria T: >38'c or <36'c, Hr: >90 beats/min, Rr: >20 breaths/min, ^L: >12000/ml or <4000/ml or >10%band forms.
¥ sepsis= identifiable source of infection+sirs.
¥ severe sepsis= sepsis+organ dysfunction.
¥ septic shock= sepsis+cardiovascular collapse.
